Pennsylvania genealogy research is a complex endeavor. Research is conducted at the county level, but there are quirks and inconsistencies with Pennsylvania records that only experienced professionals can navigate. As you will see below, when you hire us to conduct your genealogical research, you're getting that expertise.
Stephanie Hoover is a well-recognized Pennsylvania researcher, traditionally published non-fiction author and television consultant specializing in Pennsylvania history. She has served hundreds of private and corporate research clients in the United States and abroad.
Stephanie appeared on-air on the Travel Channel, and conducted research for NBC's Who Do You Think You Are? (the Jason Sudeikis episode), PBS's Finding Your Roots, and Canada's Ancestors in the Attic. She also provided background research for a Netflix pitch about Pennsylvania's purported "Paranormal Triangle." In addition, she conducted archival research for a SyFy Channel special on the Kecksburg, PA UFO incident.
Stephanie has also assisted other authors. Her research was recognized in North South Trader's Civil War, and she provided background material for several published biographies including one on business magnate Charles J. Harrah.
Stephanie has been a proud member of the Authors Guild since 2012, and is also an exhibiting artist, printmaker and bookbinder.
Tom Shannon offers more than 30 years of media and communications experience, and 20 years of research experience. He has traveled throughout Pennsylvania to search court houses, county archives, historical societies and private collections. Additionally, he is a skilled cemetery researcher.
Unlike other researchers who charge an hourly research fee, decades of experience have taught us that clients get the best results from geographically concentrated Pennsylvania research.
Our flat-rate research package includes a full sweep of your Pennsylvania county of choice for one ancestor - and we're not just checking indexes. As researchers who have conducted on-site genealogical and historical research in all 67 of Pennsylvania's counties, we know what documents exist and - more importantly - how to use them.
We collect and analyze as many pertinent family history details as possible, always with the goal of expanding ancestral knowledge. Samples of Pennsylvania searches include probate files, land records, other critical (often overlooked) court records, vital records, local newspapers, church records, maps, contemporary and extended family member documentation and more. (Keep in mind: not all searches are applicable to all ancestors.)
Incidental research expansion beyond the target Pennsylvania county border may be conducted at our discretion but, if we have good reason to believe information of substantial benefit may be found elsewhere, we will advise you of this fact. The choice to purchase additional research is completely yours.
Because of the complexity of these projects, assignments can take four to six weeks from order to delivery of final results. Payment for research is required in advance and covers only our time and expertise - we do not predict or guarantee specific research results.
Our flat-fee package includes a comprehensive sweep of one Pennsylvania county for one ancestor as described above. Cost is $900.00, payable by check or PayPal.
If you'd like your Pennsylvania genealogy research results printed and hand-bound in our exclusive Pennsylvania Ancestral Ledger, the fee (beginning June 1, 2026) is $250. Documents are printed onto archival-quality paper, organized chronologically, and hand-bound into an 8 1/2" by 11" presentation book with customized cover.
